How to Wrap Odd-Shaped Gifts

Big presentDon’t let the fact that a gift is difficult to wrap get in the way of buying it. There are creative ways to wrap just about anything, including golf clubs, bowling balls and plants. Keep it fun and be creative. You can get those things wrapped after all.

Consider a quaint burlap sack for a big gift. Use dye or paint the sack and put on plenty of ribbons and beads. Burlap bags can be purchased at garden centers or feed stores. Large garbage bags are less chic but they definitely do the trick. Even garbage bags can be decked out with ribbons and bows.

For an oversized fancy gift, put the gift inside a pillowcase or pillowsham. Tie it up with ribbons for a nice touch. Make it look like a piece of candy by tying both ends with ribbon. The receiver gets not only the gift but a nice pillowcase as well. .

Use some lovely festive fabric to wrap a nice big gift. You can use lace, fleece or velvet, or you can pick up some Christmas print fabric. Tie the gift with ribbons or use a stapler to keep the ends together. This won’t wreck the fabric which can be used for other purposes like craft items.

For long thin gifts, wrap them in PVC pipe. This would work for a golf club. Use paper towel rolls to wrap a rolled up print or picture. Wrap the piping in Christmas paper and tie on some ribbons or swirl red ribbon down the pipe so that it looks like a candy cane.

If it will really wreck a gift to wrap it, wrap up an empty box with a piece of paper with clues as to where the real gift is hidden. Make it kind of a game to find the actual gift.
