Holiday Cooking: Christmas Cheese Balls
Holiday time is almost synonymous with extra cooking. Take a look at these lovely additions to your holiday recipes.
Christmas Cheese Ball (so named because it is red and green)
Ingredients:
- 2 8 ounce blocks of regular cream cheese
- A bunch of green onions
- A large package of shaved beef
- Crushed walnuts
Allow the cream cheese to get soft. Chop the entire green onion including the stalks into a bowl and cube the beef into small cubes. Mix with cream cheese thoroughly and roll into two smaller balls. Roll the balls into chopped nuts and serve with crackers.
Festive Cheese Ball
Ingredients:
- 2 small green onions
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 8 ounces of cream cheese
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 2 slices American cheese
- 1 tbsp butter
- Chopped pecans
Combine all ingredients together with softened cream cheese. Form into a ball and roll in chopped pecans.
Seafood Cheese Balls
- 1 can of crab meat
- 8 ounces of softened cream cheese
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Bottled cocktail sauce
Combine the first three ingredients and form into a ball. Chill the ball and pour cocktail sauce on top. Serve with crackers.
Chicken cheese ball
Ingredients:
- 8 ounces of soft cream cheese
- 4 ounces of grated cheddar cheese
- 1 can of chopped chicken
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 tsp green pepper
- 2 tbsp chopped green onion
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp Bacon bits
Mix all ingredients and mold into a ball. Roll in chopped pecans.
